The Advanced Heat Transfer Laboratory (AHTL) is committed to development of advanced heat transfer technology that can be applied to a variety of thermal applications.  Although the primary focus is the development of advanced cooling technology for gas turbine applications, the research extends far beyond this area.  Through industrial and academic collaborations, traditional cooling concepts are investigated while advanced cooling schemes are developed for the next generation of gas turbines.  Through their participation within AHTL, personnel are equipped with a variety of skills which will allow them to pursue technical careers in both industry and academia.
