Kumar Ramohalli, Ph.D.Kumar Ramohalli earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with propulsion as his major; he was awared the duPont memorial fellowship. Earlier he earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree at the Bangalore University, where he was awarded the Sir M.Vishveswariah Memorial Prize, for sucuring the FIRST place in his graduating class. He worked at the California Institute of Technology, as a Research, and Senior Research Fellow, conducting studies on solid rockets, and acoustics of flames. After four years, he shifted to CalTech's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as a Senior Scientist. After two years, he was promoted to the rank of Group Leader, supervising the research of 5-6. Within the next year he was promoted to the rank of Group Supervisor, handling 2-4 groups; concurrently he was appointed Manager of SunFuels, directing over 20 personnel in the development of solar-generated fuels, as an inexpensive alternative to the costly imported oil. At the same time the Chief Scientist admitted Kumar to the select group of Research Scientist (akin to a Corporate Fellow), following national peer review. He joined the University of Arizona (1982), and has taught a number of courses; he was awarded the certificate for "OUTSTANDING STUDENT SUPPORT"; students have always rated him highly as an instructor; the most recent example is in "THE TCE OF AME428". In addition, his high-tech demonstrations at "ELEMENTARY" schools, and "HOSTING HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS" along with participation in Science/Engineering "FAIRS" are regular features. At the encouragement/urging of the President of the University,he started the Freshman Course in "SPACE" that has been instrumental in attracting many students into the AME department.

His work has seen media attention internationally;recent examples are: He is the CoDIRECTOR of the UA NASA SPACE ENGINEERING RESEARCH CENTER, which was awared "$7M" to start, and another $4M in continuation So far he has brought in nearly $15M in research funding.
